All Tours:

All Tours: 
  1. Check-in begins at 8:00am.
  2. Preregistration required. ​
  3. Registration fee includes transportation and lunch. 
  4. Check-in and bus departure will occur at the Expo site.
  5. All tours include transportation to the Manure Agitation Demonstration.
  6. All tours will return to the Expo site following the Manure Agitation Demonstration.
**You must be checked in by 8:30am or your seat may be given to someone else.

Tour 1 - MoOving manure on dairies

This tour will feature a dairy that shows how manure separation, aeration and irrigation are working together for a local farm family. Learn about the design, implementation, management and experiences of mooving manure.

tour 2 - beefing up the system

​Check-in by 8:30am at Expo site, buses depart at 9:00am
(N.M., 1.0 CEU, P.D., 1.0 CEU) (N.M., 3, H/B, 3)

This tour will feature a local farm that raises beef cattle and manages manure in open lots, bedded pack barns and deep pit systems. The tour will also visit the South Dakota State University Cow-Calf Education and Research Facility, which showcases research and manure management for both pasture and confinement systems.

tour 3 - a look inside swine systems

Check-in by 8:30am at Expo site, buses depart at 9:00am
(P.D., 2.0 CEU) (N.M., 3, H/B, 3)

This tour will take participants inside swine barns to see how manure storages are designed and managed, and the pig environment. The tour includes a swine barn under construction. At the South Dakota State University Swine Education and Research Facility, a viewing hallway allows tour participants to see inside the gestation barn and view stall and pen gestation and farrowing in action.
